Milena Morais and Mardio Costa are partners in both dance and life, co-managing the Forró School Chineleiros in Lauro de Freitas, Bahia. Milena, from Belo Horizonte, discovered her passion for forró at 12 and has since traveled to 15 countries to teach and perform. Mardio, from Salvador, founded Chineleiros at 18 and has 13 years of experience in the forró world.
Together, they have been recognized for their contributions, including winning the Professional category at the 2023 Forró Dance Competition in Itaúnas, ES, Brazil. Their work blends their individual journeys into a shared vision of dance as expression and cultural promotion.
